We are off and creating in the art room and I can already tell that this year our students are going to create some amazing pieces of art. We will soon be filling the hallways and display cabinets with their work so make sure you stop in soon....
I want to also say thank you for all the support that has already been showered on our art department. I handed out junk lists to all the parents at our open houses and also sent home copies to my current student's homes and the junk is now rolling into our art class. Thank you so much for all that has been donated. We look forward to using it all......Please keep it coming!
I also want to send a shout out to a few businesses who have also supported the art cause.....
Tuscarora Yarns, Inc. in Mt. Pleasant donated a stack of card stock and also the toaster oven we were looking for. Chihuley "glass" here we come!!
Strike Zone Lanes and Lounge (Chuck Nance - Nance Auction House) in Albemarle sent in old bowling pins for the students to use when creating still life designs.
Ryan Vigh, owner of All Washed Up pressure washing in Albemarle, also donated old bottles for our still life set ups.
Fast Stop in New London donated Styrofoam trays for our color units.
If I have missed any businesses, please forgive me....and let me know. I want our community to realize that even though our schools and students have taken a hit from our government, our local businesses, community and parents are helping out wherever they can. It is noticed and very much appreciated.
